Pradeep A.K:

Pradeep A.K. started his career as a technician and device developer. Within a short span of time he developed passion for photography and later at some point, Forest & Wildlife became his dream subject for photography. Whenever the dream wild disturbed, he stole time to explore deep into forests and wildlife havens for days and weeks in devour for sighting of wild animals, birds, flowers and landscapes. As he began to know more and more about the mysterious wild world he got more and more inspired and finally he threw himself up into studying and documenting life cycles of certain flora and fauna that attracted his first curiosity. A good long period of one and a half decade he pursued his dream in the the same routes again and again in the wild as well as the rural remote forest villages in the southern India exploring, researching and documenting the trajectories of an interesting flora species, the Kurinjis (Strobilanthes species). In this venture, he documented several rotation of gregarious flowerings even that of some rarest species of Kurinjis. He owns a specimen herbarium and photographic documentation of around 60 different species of Kurinjis distributed over a wide geographical terrain right from the river Tapti to Agasthya hills in the southern tip of the western ghats. Presently he has gained fame as a Kurinji expert cum taxonomist. He even extends support as collaborator cum co-researcher in many flora study projects. In the meantime, he made use of his engineering expertise and designing skills by innovating & developing interpretative displays, devices and exclusive designs for interpretation centers of the Forest Department. On request from the Forest Department he innovated and manufactured a new model of eco-friendly snake tongs for safe catching of dangerously poisonous snakes without causing harm to their skin and bones. The snake tongs was great success in the field and gained high degree of appreciation. Acceptance of snake tongs motivated him to pursue his dream of innovation of special agricultural equipments for common man's routine use. Without his innovative skills, perseverance and hard work establishment of wwi would not have been possible.
